Prince Harry and Meghan serenaded with God Save The King by skiers

Sussexes waved to crowds as they left Whistler Mountain after an event to mark one-year countdown to next Invictus Games

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were treated to a rendition of God Save The King by a group of skiers as they left Whistler Mountain on Wednesday afternoon.

The Duchess, 42, waved to a cheering crowd of onlookers before getting into a Jeep while Prince Harry, 39, is believed to have taken a moment to speak with them.

One skier described the Duke as “very nice” after the couple departed the ski resort following an event on the mountain to mark the one-year countdown to the next Invictus Games.

The seventh Games for wounded veteran personnel is being held in Vancouver and Whistler between February 8 to 16, 2025.

The three-day visit marks the couple’s first public appearance together since the King’s shock cancer diagnosis, after which the Duke urgently flew to the UK to spend 45 minutes with his father.

Meghan and Harry’s two children Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, appeared to have stayed behind at the family’s home in Montecito for the Canadian tour.

The royal couple were greeted with a warm reception from locals and tourists at the picturesque ski resort where they were hosting some of the Games winter camp events.

On Wednesday, Harry tried his hand at adaptive sit skiing which he later described as feeling “bizarre”.

The couple made their first appearance of the tour together in the below-freezing mountain temperatures on Valentine’s Day, looking happy and holding hands as they toured different winter sports stations on the slopes.
